Sunday concerts, sales, fairs and festivals to mention but a few. See the Events page for details of upcoming events.

Events such as weddings, parties, family gatherings, and celebrations of all kinds can be held here. As well as meetings both large and small.

Generic Risk Assessment

You can see a generic Risk Assessment by clicking the link at the top of the Interest Groups page that you may wish to use when planning an event at The Venue or hiring it on a regular basis. It includes guidance as to who should produce a Risk Assessment and it has an outline of a Risk Assessment to act as a start point for any hirer needing to produce a tailored Risk Assessment for an event or series of events.

We invite you to become a Member of The Venue

Membership costs £5 per year per person. Apply with the bar staff. Members who's membership expired on 31st May 2023 need to renew by completing a form and paying £5 for the current year at the bar.
Members have a 10% discount on all alcoholic drinks from the Poppy Lounge bar and get free use of the Guest WIFI at The Venue.

Come along to a warm welcome

Coffee morning every Wednesday 10am to 12 noon

Tea, coffee, cakes provided by a volunteer team of local ladies led by Janet and Diane. Enjoy friendly chatter with local residents. Incorporating Talking Tables. Also find out what is going on at The Venue that may be of interest.

Locals' Lunches 2nd and 4th Thursday each month 12 noon to 2pm.

But monthly in June, July and August.
Two course lunch with tea/coffee/biscuits/cakes - all for £8.
Next lunch: Thursday 24th April at 12pm

The AGM and Time Capsule

The AGM on the 17th July 2022 was attended by over 50 residents and the Trustees were applauded for a 'great job done' and were all re-elected. Click here click just to the left of here to read the Chairman's report to the AGM. The 2023 AGM on Thursday 31st August 2023 was well attended and the Trustees were re-elected.

The 2024 AGM is to take place at 2pm on Sunday 14th July.

On the 4th December 2021 at the Christmas Market we buried and sealed a Time Capsule at The Venue which is not to be opened for 100 years - 4th December 2121.
